  • Brief Description About the Trek

The Dayara Bugyal Trek is a popular trekking route located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, specifically in the Uttarkashi district. "Bugyal" in the local language means "meadow," and Dayara Bugyal is known for its vast alpine meadows spread across an elevation of approximately 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) to 12,000 feet (3,657 meters).
The trek offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, dense forests, and a variety of flora and fauna. It is a moderate-level trek, suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The total trek distance is around 9 to 12 kilometers, depending on the starting point, and can be completed in about 4 to 5 days.
The trek usually starts from the village of Barsu, which serves as the base camp. From Barsu, trekkers begin their ascent through a scenic trail that passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests. As they climb higher, the landscape opens up to vast meadows, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Bandarpoonch and Draupadi Ka Danda.
Camping at Dayara Bugyal is a unique experience, as trekkers get to spend nights under the starry sky in the midst of nature's beauty. The meadows are adorned with colorful flowers during the summer months, making it a picturesque sight.
The trek also provides opportunities for adventure enthusiasts to indulge in activities like snowboarding and skiing during the winter season when the meadows are covered in snow.
Throughout the trek, trekkers can witness the local Garhwali culture and interact with the friendly villagers of Barsu. The route is relatively well-marked, and trekkers are accompanied by experienced guides and support staff.
